Register for Children & Youth Sunday Faith Development

7/11/2025 Contact Kelly Skinner

It’s time to register your children and teens for 2025-2026 Faith Development for Children & Youth.

This year, our engaging program continues to explore the UU values (Love, Justice, Equity, Transformation, Generosity, Interdependence, and Pluralism), making connections to our monthly worship themes. We're centering experiential learning, relationship building, and what it means to be UU. We’re looking forward to a great year filled with fun, justice, growth, and friendship.

Complete a registration form on Realm for each child in your family. There is no fee or tuition required.

There will be a Family Welcome and Parent Meeting on Sunday, August 17, 2025 right after service ends.

Fall classes begin on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Here’s a little about what you can expect for each age group:

  • Preschool and Kindergarten:  Super Heroes, teddy bears, and elements of the natural world are used with our youngest children to learn more about our UU values. Through picture books, creativity, and crafts, this group explores how the values look in different situations.

  • 1st Grade through 3rd Grade:  We will use EPIC (Equal Partners in Community) for this age group to explore the “high five” of UU congregational life: Spiritual Growth, Community Care, Hospitality, Justice-Making, and Worship. Through movement, art, conversation, and more, EPIC sessions help elementary schoolers become active and loving co-creators of congregational life at UUCUC.

  • 4th Grade through 7th Grade: Older elementary and middle schoolers will learn the concepts of holy troublemaking as modeled by the people profiled in (ITALIC) Holy Troublemakers & Unconventional Saints who worked for love, justice, and compassion. Through sharing stories, young people can find inspiration, courage, and support in their quests for justice. Discussion and activities center on helping young people identify the kind of storytellers they want to be and how different stories teach peace, bring joy, and remind us that we are all connected.

  • 8th Grade through 10th Grade: We are offering Coming of Age (COA) for the first time since 2021. This is a special program that marks the transition from childhood to youth.  It's an opportunity for young people to reflect on who they are, what they believe, and how they want to present themselves in the world. It's also a way for them to build trust and deeper relationships with adults and other youth in the congregation.
